Iconic singer and songwriter extraordinaire, Neil Sedaka, had a career that spanned over 60 years. Now that the genius is gone, we are privileged to cherish his music through recordings and through his grandson, Mike Sedaka, who “has the gene from his grandfather” and is carrying on his grandfather’s mantle.
Neil’s career consisted of three phases:
First, the early rock and roll period of the 1950s and early 1960s, where singers like Connie Francis performed his music.
The second period was his comeback in 1974 with the song “Laughter in the Rain.” His music also saw a resurgence through Captain and Tennille and through his own performances and recordings.
And the third stage has been in recent years, where he has performed with his young and talented grandson, Michael.
Neil started his musical career studying classical music at Julliard at the young age of 13.
