The Writings of AjTony Perkins
Everything I want you to know, and a few things I don't want you to know.
@ajtonyperkins I have fond memories of driving my Ford Ranger, and I loved the stick shift. Alex and I had many adventures driving in my truck, especially to Boystown in Chicago. What a trip! ajtonyperkins.com

I was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta as a student at Mount Mary University where I earned a master’s degree in English/Creative Writing. It was at Mount Mary where my memoir started as a 20 page assignment.
I joined the Milwaukee Press Club after they awarded me a Gold Medal. During COVID, I allowed my membership to expire. I haven’t been to their Newsroom Pub. I am considering joining again.
I earned three awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association in 2019 for articles I wrote for Arches at Mount Mary University

I employed the services of Kathie Giorgio at All Writers Workplace & Workshop to help me edit my memoir. Her services were excellent and I highly recommend her professional offerings. Located in Waukesha, Wisconsin she meets with clients via phone calls and Zoom video.
In 2022, I presented at this convocation of writers and lovers of writing on the challenges of crafting a memoir.
I attended a Zoom workshop via this organization. I found it productive and informative. I’m yet to attend a live meeting.
Shake Rag Alley in Mineral Point, Wisconsin has a number of arts and crafts workshops throughout the year as well as those for creative writing.
They also offer retreats.
I attended the Milwaukee Writing Day Workshop in June 2024.
I did not find this event beneficial.
Four of the seven scheduled agents failed to show up for the conference. One “agent” was a middle school English teacher who worked as an agent in her spare time. This did not impress me.
Although many others give these workshops praise, I cannot recommend them.
